Do you think it was acceptable for Marilisa to marry Leo even though she wasn't truly in love with him?

        I believe it is acceptable that Marilisa has to marry to Leo, even though she is not in love with him because in this short reading tells us, that even if they are in love still the marriage ended anyway. In somehow the marriage have to end no better how much you love the person, you can't keep a marriage going forever. However, this short story tell us that they just have to stay together until they found somebody else.Marilisa  has that she will marry another man, so that's why this is acceptable that Marilisa has to marry Leo even though she wasn't truly in love with him. In this short story marriage is not  strong as we have now because they just marry anybody until they found another man and get marry with him, so when they marry one time and didn't stay forever with the person that they got marry it will go like this forever and ever without saying with one person and that's why Leo got marry with seven woman. In 21th century marriage is very strong and have to stay until the DEATH DO US PART.

I think it was acceptable for Marilisa to marry Leo even though she was not truly in love with him because in this story marriage does not mean the same as in our present-day society. Marilisa thinks that marriage is not forever and you just spend a couple years together before you find someone new. It would not make sense to marry someone you are in love with, when you know that you will leave him/her one day. In this story, Marilisa hopes and thinks about to find a new man after Leo. That's why I think that it was acceptable for Marilisa to marry Leo even though she was not truly in love with him. For the society in this story marriage is not a pact of love, it is just a pact for some years and then you will find someone else. The title 'death do us part' doesn't match the meaning of marriage. Just our society has the opinion that marriage should be forever, until death do us part.

HOW EXERCISE HELPS

If our bodies are not strong, our spirit to do things will certainly be quite dull. And at the same time, we are lack of energy to study. Diseases will only attack the weak, but not the strong.
Why are our bodies not strong? Because we do not pay attention to exercise. For this reason, we students must often take different kinds of exercise in the gym.
Exercise helps us strengthen our bodies and avoid disease. It also teaches us cooperation, for most exercise is played by team.

Coffee

In the morning, when I was going to school, I could see someone who bring the coffee..

Actually, I don't like coffee.. however when I saw them who had coffee, I thought I also bring the

coffee. In our ESL class, someone bring the coffee... why they bring the coffee... I don't know why..

they just like coffe? or because other people bring the coffee, they also bring the coffee?

sometimes, I confuse about it.... I also have to bring coffee??????

Telephone

      I came from Africa, and I need to talk with my friends that I have in Africa, but if we didn't have telephone  how would I talk to them. So telephone is very important because now I can talk  with them on the phone and because of the phone I am helping them like they told me there problems on the phone, so I send them money. They always tell how thankful they are that we have a phone over the whole word.  Even here in America we could not do nothing without a phone. Forexample you have work in the afternoon and you got sick and you don't want to go, so  how would you tell them that  you are sick if you didn't have a phone. But that was a good thing that we have a phone because it's very important to all of us in this word. Most people who live in America  have family or friends  in there own countries, so they really need the phone to call to there countries.
And also we help  each other by calling  what we need from out countries and they send to as and we send to them too. I'm also thankful that we have phone in this word because I am talking with my friends that I have in Africa.

day off from school

The day off from school was not really a day off for me! My Kids were off from school, too. That meaned for me I had to work all day. I started at 7.30am and was off at 7.15pm. What a long day!! But in favor I had four unstressed days from Thursday to Sunday because my two bigger kids went skiing with their dad. That was really awesome! So I had more time for my three years old boy and the baby. My boy knows now a few words in German :) I am very proud!!

Reading

          Reading is so important to all of us in this world because we cannot do anything without it. For example when you travel from Africa to America and you don't know how to read, you will not be happy because when you go out you need to tell somebody where you at, but if you don't know how to read it's hard. So we all should learn how to read. I remember when first we came to the United States we did not know how to read English. My family and I use to get meals at home and none of us can read it because we all don't know how to read English, so we have to go to people who know how to read English and explain to us in our language. That was so horrible thing that happened to our family.  But later on when we start going to school we all know how to read English except my mother. Since we all know how to read we do not have to go to people anymore we can explain to our mother our self. And  we all thankful to our teacher who taught us.

holiday (president day)

Next monday is president day. Actually I don't know what is president day however just I know we don't have class that day. After this semester start, I always think that I need to rest... because this semester is very tight to me. The reason is too many homework and have to study more than last semester. I think not only me but also you. By the way, maybe we don't have rest time this holiday because there are too many homework.... of course, we should do homework...
even though in this holiday, we don't go school, we also study at home......

HOW TO SPEND SUNDAYS

Some of us always spend Sundays aimlessly. We can seldom derive profits from the valuable hours of Sundays. This is indeed a GREat pity. Though Sundays are set aside as a day for rest, we must make good use of them.We know that our school lessons are usually not sufficient. We should often utilize Sundays to read reference books. In this way we will increase our knowledge. Besides, we must be engaged in sports or outing so as to strengthen our bodies.

What about a break?

I seriously need a break. I would love to sleep more then 6 hours and I would love just to do nothing. Most of the time I am working seven days a week and even when I am not working I see the kids because I live with them. That means I don't really have a break. I love my host kids but sometimes I wish I don't have to see them. I would like to go somewhere where it's hot and sunny. That would let me feel way better!
Sometimes I think that I am a machine. Just working and working and working. No time to breath. Do you know this feeling?

Most people think that it is an easy job to be a babysitter/au pair but it is not!! Kids are not always nice or sleeping. Kids are making a lot of work and you can't let them be by themeselves for even one second. I have to clean a lot, do the laundry and so on. It is more work then I thought before I came here! But of course it is also fun to take care of my lovely kids!

I need to relax

I found it. When I back home, I always do homework, sleep, eat... I felt that I haven't time to do something can relax. So I decide to go shopping with Gordon when we after school. To be honest, we didn't go shopping for a long time. And he bought a lot of things to make up his pressure. And I just bought one things. Actually, I just want to go outside to walk, to relax.

New Friends

Our class started 3 weeks ago. However I still don't have new friends. Actually, I have little problem that I can't approch to other people. It is very hard to me. For this reason, I couldn't have new friends. In addition, in our class, there are only two korean guys include me. Other peoples are from other countries. Now I really need to have new friends in our class. If you want to have frindship with me, just say "hello" to me and then I'm very easy to approch to you.

Miss Africa

        I came to the United Sates five years ago, I love America but, I Miss Africa more because I have family and friend there.  I remember when I got in America the first 6 month was hard for me. First I didn’t speak English so, if I need help I cannot ask for help to anybody,  second I was scared to go out because I don’t know how to come back to my building, seven to ten days I didn’t go out that much.  And I miss my befriend so much. Especially I remember what we have done. Africa is beautiful country for living, but in these years may people are hungry, and some countries have war. That’s one reason that I came here. America is good country too, but they people are not the same as Africa. For example if you see people fighting you will stop them, but in America they just watch you or call the police.

Crazy Valentine's Day!!

I have never seen so much gifts for Valentine's Day! The stores are filled up with greeting cards, heart-shaped chocolate, stuffed animals and so on. Everything is red, pink and twinkle. I think that is way too much!
My hostkids have to write a note to each person in there class and if they want to write a note to someone from a different class they also have to write a note for each person of this class. Isn't that crazy?? Why do you have to write each person? I thought Valentine's Day is the day of love. So why don't you just write a note to people you like and love? I can't imagine that you like all your classmates the same. And what is about your family and other friends? You might like them much better. So why do you HAVE to write a not to each person of your class. That sounds really crazy to me! Anyway I think we don't even need a Valentine's Day to tell our family and friends that we love them!

crazy car traffic!!!

I always drive to school, because I living in north chicago. If I don't drive a car,I can't go to school so I have to drive for go to school. Actually I have moning class that is ESL99. This class start at 9:30 am. It make me mad.. because in the moring, too many cars go to downtown. So when I go to school, I should one and half hour drive!!!!!! it make me crazy. I think There's always a lot of traffic at this time of day. that reason, I go to shcool at 7:50 am..... if I go to school at 8:10 or 8:20 am, I'm late at the moning class...

how about you? do you drive to school at the moring?? or do you live in other side(not the downtown)? can you understand my situation?

Education

       We cannot read or write if we do not have education. Education is very important in this world because no one can work without it. I know people who live in Africa without education, and I pity them because I was one of them. But here I am going to school and I have learned a lot since I started going to school. I remember when I came to the United Sates I did not know anything about education. I couldn't even spell my own name. Even now, I have family members who do not know how to read, write, or speak English. They always ask people for help. So that is why education is important for all people because without it everything is nothing in this world.

to be baby has to be awesome

I am taking care of a baby. Her name is Vivienne and she is almost three month old. When I saw her sleeping yesterday I thought about how wonderful it has to be a baby. You just have to eat and sleep all day long. No responsibillity, no hurry. Everyone likes you because you are such a cute baby and when you are smiling everyone is happy. Just be! On the other hand you are also helpless and you need someones help. So, I think every age is wonderful and has its special amenity. But don't you wish to sleep like a baby sometimes?
